Travel to the Most Affordable Beach Destination

Travel to the Most Affordable Beach Destination

Isn't this exactly what you want from your vacation? Did you think you would not be able to afford a vacation this year due to the economy. Don't fret any longer, there is hope out there and it is in Cancun, Mexico. Cancun is a very affordable vacation destination for couples, families and singles.

The most affordable are the all inclusive resorts which include air fare, hotel and everything to eat and drink. Most have lots of activities included in the price as well. All inclusives are usually dedicated to one group such as couples, families or singles so you will be around your own kind. It is very nice for families because kids can meet up and play with kids their own age. Most have day camps for kids where they have tons of fun, are supervised and fed meals while their parents have some well earned time off.

All inclusive resorts for couples make it easy for you to have the vacation of your dreams and may be even meet some new friends.

Even without inclusive resorts, Cancun is still an extremely affordable vacation destination, especially for Americans because it is just a hop and a jump away. If you do not want to miss your beach vacation this year, look into Cancun, Mexico.

Best Beach Destinations in Mexico

With the economy battling everyone, how can you get away on a budget and still get a hot sand beach? Your answer is always Mexico, one of the most affordable beach destinations close to the U.S. Mexico offers not only affordability, but excellent beaches, adventures, restaurants and excellent hotels. All for a price you can afford.

Great destinations for couples, singles or families are Acapulco, Cancun and Cabo San Lucas. My personal favorite is Cabo San Lucas. My mouth is watering for the authentic Mexican salsa as I write this piece. The restaurants are unbelievable. The beaches are beautiful. Adventures like parasailing cost about 1/6th of what you would pay in other higher priced destinations such as Hawaii.

Acapulco is great also, it is centrally located near many excellent Mexico destinations such as ruins and pyramids.

Cancun of course is the newest hot destination on my list with excellent beaches and everything you could possibly want in a beach vacation.

Save Money By Traveling During the Off Season

The prime season to travel to most beach destinations is December through April. Therefore your best deals will be between May and November. One thing to keep in mind is that families with children must travel while their kids are out of school, taking up the June through August 15 timeframe. So to get your very best travel deals. Travel between May 1 to May 31 or August 18 to December 15, avoiding Thanksgiving.

Many beach destinations have beautiful weather all year long if they are located near the equator.

If you are aware of these slow periods ahead of time it will help you to negotiate a better rate for your car rental, hotel and airfare.

You should also keep in mind that airlines will normally give you a better deal if you stay over a Saturday night. You can also check the dates around your travel dates because sometimes rates can be significantly lower if you travel mid week, such as Wednesday or Thursday.

Now is the Time For The Beach

With winter upon us, now is the time to get yourself to the beach. If you live close enough to drive, I highly recommend it, if not, you can find some good discount airline tickets. If you live in the south, just drive down to either Florida or Mexico. If you live in the north, buy your tickets now and get yourself down to either southern Florida or Mexico, you can't keep yourself couped up indoors for much longer. This is the time to go to the beach.

My favorite spot in Mexico is Cabo San Lucas. It has beautiful hotels, golf courses and delicious restaurants. It is a great destination all year long.

My favorite place in Florida is Sarasota, it is quiet and beautiful. You will love the beaches and the warm water.

Things to Do in Mexico You May Not Think Of

Planning a trip to Mexico?

There are some adventures in Mexico that you may not think of. There are some excellent native ruins in Mexico. There are even some pyramids. You can hook up with a local tour group or go on your own. You can always have a taxi take you and arrange for them to pick up later. You will want to be geared up for ruins and pyramids. You will need hiking boots, a body that is in relatively good shape for a physical adventure and plenty of water and snacks. You will need to hike in just to see them. This is a bargain of an adventure for any vacation.

Another fun thing to do in Mexico is parasailing. It is relatively inexpensive compared to other beach destinations. You can take off and land directly on the beach for your convenience and safety.

If you have some extra cash to spend, you can try your luck at deep sea fishing. The fish of choice is a Marlin (swordfish). This is a very popular sport in the area.

Ocean view golfing is another great excursion for all golfers young and old. Some of the most beautiful golf courses in the world exist in places such as Cabo San Lucas, Cancun and Acapulco.

Should I Rent a Car or Use a Cab in Mexico

There are pros and cons to driving in Mexico. Mexico will allow you to drive with your valid America drivers license.

If you do rent a car, purchase the insurance that is offered from the rental company, unless you are driving in your own car. Drive very carefully, there seems to be a lot of people speeding, tailgating and generally driving badly. Unless you drive like a cab driver, you may be out of your league here. Another thing to consider is that the roads are in disrepair. A lot of pot holes, unmarked lanes and broken traffic signals. The convenience of taking yourself wherever you want to go is hampered by the many drawbacks of driving in Mexico.

If you choose to take a taxi everywhere you go, you will find that it is very inexpensive. It is so cheap that you will think you have your own chauffeur. Of course, you will still have to deal with bad driving, but at least you can ask your driver to slow down. The biggest benefit is that your driver will know everywhere you want to go and he can make suggestions for you.

Using a taxi is definitely the best way to go in Mexico, whether it is in Acapulco, Cancun or Cabo San Lucas, it is the most convenient and least expensive option.

Book a Hotel in Cabo San Lucas

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico is a very beautiful and affordable vacation destination for families, singles and couples. When looking for a hotel room you should definitely go for the works. Mexico is not a place where you want to stay at a two star hotel. I recommend a minimum of a 3 star and with prices as low as they are right now, a 4 star hotel is very affordable. If you have children you will really appreciate the difference.

A four star hotel will have amenities such as a restaurant onsite and they are usually very good. The will filter their own water which is a must. I have never gotten sick from the water in Mexico, because while I am there, I only drink the water at the hotel I am staying at. I do go out to eat and drink, but I do not drink water at other restaurants.

Most four star hotels also have beach access. It is very nice to just walk directly out of your hotel room and down to the beach. You will really appreciate this convenience and you will spend more time relaxing and less time driving.

Have fun in Cabo!

Destination Cabo San Lucas

If you are looking for an affordable travel destination. Look no further. Cabo San Lucas Mexico is an excellent family, couples or singles vacation destination. It was affordable before the economic downturn and now it is very affordable. Tickets, hotel rooms and all inclusives are offering their best deals ever.

Many of the resorts in the Cabo area are new and have excellent accomodations. There are normally no televisions in the room, so your children will be motivated to keep busy. Beautiful pools, golf courses and restaurants.

There are unending activities in the area including deep sea fishing (Marlin is the catch here), horseback riding on the beach, parasailing, sun bathing, shopping, golfing (with excellent ocean views), snorkeling and visiting ancient ruins.
